Smyslov: Some Links
Sunday, March 28, 2010 at 3:23PM
One link in particular, and that's to Mark Crowther's TWIC page on Smyslov. He offers quite a bit of information about his career and has some nice links at the bottom of the page as well. It's worth checking out.
On this blog, I intend to offer some further commemorative posts as well, including some of his best games and studies. Stay tuned.

Glad to see that you are honouring Smyslov with so many posts Dennis. Chessvibes has a nice page with some of his endgame studies here.
Smyslov on dying, on the meaning of life, on the demonic in chess, etc.:

That TWIC page has a link to this page in Russian, which I was pleased to find that Google Translate does a pretty good job rendering it into English
Lots of good stuff there on that Russian page; a number of excellent games with light comments, historical information like lifetime records against all the top Grandmasters of his lifetime and a link to a ~2MB database of Smyslov games.
